Hong Kong famous designer Patrick Fong

At 7 pm, March, 24, initiated by local well-known designer Xiaoying Zhang, a gathering named “Happy design” was held in Minto Café in Chunxi Road, Chengdu, well-known Hong Kong designer Patrick Fong was present as a special guest. Sofun.com, House Weekly and Building Materials & Decoration attended as media.

With music, coffee and ice creams, the activity was hosted by Mr. Zhang. The theme for the evening was “focus of design – the tension between male and female designers” and, attendants fell into two groups and discussed. Mr. Zhang’s humor greatly relaxed the atmosphere. Designers expressed ideas while drinking coffee. Just like one designer said, they were “enjoying the sufferings”.

Mr. Zhang expressed special thanks to Champion Tiles which had sponsored the activity in 2007 without any commercial purposes. “Happy Design” was held monthly to promote communications among designers and create a relaxed atmosphere for the profession. Mr. Zhang spoke lightly that he played a little trick to invite Mr. Fong, who was designing a deluxe show flat project in Chengdu. Zhang hoped that more local and foreign top designers can be invited to share views with their local counterparts in Chengdu.
